When you don’t have any fields

February 3rd, 2012

One of the times FillAnyPdf is most useful, is when someone gives you a form to fill out, but it doesn’t have any interactive “fields” on it.

To add these fields, someone would have to buy Acrobat (or something similar) and spend the time to learn how to add fields, and then go through the form to add all the fields and name them.

Using a job application as an example, it might have 150 fields.  That explains why you might get a job application without any fields on it.  Instead of adding 150 fields, the HR Manager would just ask you to print it, fill it out by hand, and fax it back to them.

However, with FillAnyPdf.com, you can upload the application (without fields) and immediately start typing on it.  The typing looks very neat, you can carefully position it, select fonts and font sizes.  You can also sign it online.

Best of all, the HR Manager didn’t even need to add the fields, because you didn’t need them anyway.  If you can figure out where to write your name, you can also figure out where to type your name.  So everyone wins.

After you sign it, you can email it back to them, all without printing a piece of paper, which saves time, and gets your job application back to them quickly.  Maybe you’ll even impress them with how fast you got the application back to them…

Great Application: Filling out Worksheets

February 1st, 2012

One of my favorite, but unexpected, applications of FillAnyPdf is filling out worksheets for homework assignments.

Since the form doesn’t need to be “interactive” or be prepared by Adobe Acrobat, they can use any worksheet they have, even if it is just a scanned image, exactly as it is.

It works like this:

  • The teacher uploads the worksheet and enters the student’s email addresses
  • The students receive links to fill out the worksheet
  • The teacher can see who has completed the assignment and who has not
  • The teacher can then grade the assignment and return it back to the student

Best of all, this can be done without printing paper or scanning documents.  All the assignments are then saved and organized on the FillAnyPdf website or the teacher can download them to their own computer.

If you have another interesting use for FillAnyPdf.com, please write and let us know about it!

Technology & Productivity

January 17th, 2010

Shouldn’t technology make us more productive? I think some websites make us FEEL productive, because they keep us busy. But, being busy and being productive are not the same thing. At FillAnyPdf.com, we actually do make people more productive.

One example is that FillAnyPdf.com lets you sign PDFs online instead of having to print, sign on paper, scan back in, and send by email.

Another way FillAnyPdf.com saves time is by letting you type anywhere on the form, making it instantly fillable. This saves an incredible amount of time compared to going through the page adding fields everywhere you want someone to type. (And that assumes you bought Acrobat, for about $400).

Try it for yourself, and let me know if you don’t agree!
